What will I actually study? 

In this unit you will learn how to create a SWOT analysis and a PDP. A SWOT analysis outlines your strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. A PDP is a Personal Development Program, these both help you to better understand yourself and requirements for bettering yourself.

The next things you will study are attributes employers look for and how effective communication is vital for different contexts. Employers look for people that will be beneficial to the company and will be a valuable asset to the inner workings. 


Effective communication is vital in varying contexts from just friendly talk to professional dealings with other companies. 


The final thing that you will study is barriers to effective communication and how to overcome them. Barriers to effective communication can be anything from background noise to different languages. These can all be overcome by varying methods, these will be explained in the unit.

  1. Wow! Unit 1 looks insightful. I'm thinking of going to York College after reading this as it sounds like a good place to study. I am scared I will have trouble securing a job in the future so Unit 1 will help me overcome these fears. This is a well-written blog post. Good job!
